Our community

Rooted in the Delta.
Growing together.

Every safari is shaped by the people who know the Okavango Delta as home. We create opportunities for local guides and mokoro polers while giving guests a genuine connection to the culture of the Delta.

Local people. Local knowledge.

A safari becomes more meaningful when the community is part of the journey.

Safari Addicts is based in Maun, at the gateway to the Okavango Delta. We employ local professional guides and work with polers from Delta communities whose knowledge of the waterways, wildlife and changing seasons brings every experience to life.

For us, supporting communities is not separate from the safari. It is built into how we operate—through employment, shared knowledge and experiences that allow our guests to meet the people connected to these landscapes.

Our mokoro activities create work for skilled local polers who navigate the Delta’s channels with knowledge passed through their communities.

03

Cultural nights

Guests on our three-night Delta safaris can enjoy a cultural evening of stories, song and shared moments with local people.

04

Keeping value local

Choosing local people and services helps tourism create opportunities close to the landscapes and communities that make each safari possible.

Knowledge of the waterways

The Delta is best understood through those who know its rhythm.

A mokoro journey is more than a quiet passage through the reeds. Local polers read water levels, channels, animal signs and weather with a confidence built through experience. Their knowledge gives guests a closer and more respectful way to discover the Okavango.

By including local polers in our safaris, we support livelihoods while keeping this remarkable skill connected to the people and place from which it comes.
